TOPIC GROWTH OF THE EARLY CHURCH
TEXT Acts 1:8; 2:14-41; 10:1-8, 24-45
MEMORY VERSE Acts 1:8
Jesus in Acts 1:8 gave the pattern of growth of the Church, namely from ‘Jerusalem’ to ‘Judea’ and to ‘the ends of the earth’. It is a joint venture between the Almighty God and man (1 Cor.3:5-15). We must be ready to fulfil our part of the growth mission bearing in mind that it is God that makes growth possible. It can also be said that the Holy Spirit is the ‘Chief Executive’ in the ‘enterprise’ of inauguration and growth of the NT Church (Acts 1:8; 16:6-9). If we follow His leadership, the Church will grow in line with God’s will and purpose.
