THE CHURCH MUST BE CLEAR ON CHRIST’S AND APOSTOLIC TEACHING ON MARRIAGE

*THE CHURCH MUST BE CLEAR ON CHRIST’S AND APOSTOLIC TEACHING ON MARRIAGE*

CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE is a lifelong unconditional union and partnership between one Christian man and one Christian woman to the exclusion of all others. This is based on the divinely instituted marriage at human innocency in Eden as Christ taught, but unlike marriages of hardness of heart outside Eden (Mark 10:1-12).

Only widow(er)s, not divorcées could REMARRY (1Cor 7:8-9, 39; Rom 7:1-3; 1Tim 5:14).

Marriage is not mandatory for all nor is it possible for all (Mat 19:11-12; 1Cor 7:6-7).

The Church did not derive her Christian Marriage concept from the cultures and TRADITIONS of our Jewish or Gentile forebears, nor from the preferences and TRENDS of our modern peers. Christian Marriage is not meant to conform to human errors, our wishes and personal TENDENCIES, but conform to Divine Institution.

Christian Marriage is deduced from divine TRUTH found in
• Christ’s teaching in Matt. 19:3-12; Mark 10:1-12;
• the Apostolic teachings in 1Cor. 7:8-17,39; Rom. 7:1-3; Eph. 5:21-33; Heb. 13:4; 1Pet. 3:1-7
• and God’s original institution/ordination of marriage at creation in Gen. 1:27,28; 2:18,22-25.

Polygamy, “Seriogamy” and/or “Homogamy” do not belong to Christian Marriage.

Amen!
